The Handmade Birthday
I made a few things for my daughters birthday including this handmade stamp. I carved it with lino cutters I had bought while taking an art course and used a pencil eraser as the carving block. She's into elephants so I made her her very own monogrammed stamp.

Happy valentines!
There's always a scene if our daughter doesn't get a card on Valentines day so this year I made her this mini card

What's in a name?
I set this blog up a while ago and the did nothing with it. Finally getting a smart phone has spurred me into action. A little about this space, the blog name comes from stone (my love of geology), paper (my PhD in environmental engineering) and scissors (I love making things). My day job relates to academic research into deep geothermal energy, other time, I spend at my small holding looking after animals (including my family) and doing creative projects when time permits.

Welcome
Welcome to Stone Paper Scissors. Over the next few months I'll be building up this blog to hopefully create a useful resource for everyone interested in a creative life. I want to share with you some of my favourite sources of inspiration and get your opinions on the things that I make myself. I'll also give feedback on some of my experimental work. Watch this space...
